In-Home Hearing Consultations
Beltone offers in-home consultations for people who are not physically capable of coming to our office but have a high interest in getting help for their hearing. We offer this service because we know hearing needs are important and we want to make your life a little easier.
During an in-home consultation, one of our hearing care professionals will come to you and conduct a hearing test. They will discuss different hearing aid options and answer your questions in the privacy of your own home.
Like an in-office consultation, you will fill out an in-take sheet that asks general information. We will also ask for an insurance card. This is so we can check if there is any hearing aid benefit should you have hearing loss.
You will then be asked detailed questions about your lifestyle. We do this because we want to make certain we find the best fitting hearing aid that will not interfere in your day, your life, or (and more importantly) your comfort.
How long does the in-home hearing consultation take?
Each of these consultations will take roughly an hour. During this time, together we will set up our audiometer, fill out necessary paperwork, check insurance, go over the results of the hearing test. From there, we will decide on the hearing-aid options best for you, if you need them.
What are the requirements for an in-home consultation?
In-home consultations are for people who are not physically capable of coming to our office but have a high interest in getting help for their hearing.
We have certain requirements for an in-home consultation. We require having an additional family member, Power of Attorney, or any supportive third party to be present when we arrive at your residence.
Can you come to my nursing home or retirement facility?
We are willing to go to houses, apartments, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, retirement communities, and assisted living facilities. We will need a three-prong outlet to use our audiometer for the hearing test.
Delivery of new hearing aids
After deciding on which hearing aids to go ahead with during the In-Home Consultation, we return to your home within 1 to 2 weeks. This is for the delivery of your new hearing aids. We will make sure they fit your ears properly and make sure they are set to your hearing loss with our software.
We make the aids louder or softer depending on your comfort level. And we instruct you how to take care and maintain your new hearing aids. Of course, we will be available to help you long after delivery!
